Theory
The text is generously illustrated with over 600 photographs and drawings, and each chapter concludes with a "problem set" and "reading list." The Basic Radiation Protection Technology self-study course was developed to meet the needs of both experienced technologists as well as people new to the field. The course is designed as a complete, self-paced, self-contained package to prepare you for the written examination given by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT®).
Our materials provide you with an excellent, systematic introduction to the theory, instruments, and daily practice of radiation protection technology. Examples and applications are drawn from a variety of practical settings including reactors, hospitals, accelerators, and industry. Student Manual
The Student Manual serves as a roadmap, guiding the participant through the vast amount of information contained in the self-study course. The manual presents the basic mechanics of the course and contains a complete subject outline, as well as complete worked-out solutions for every problem in the Basic Radiation Protection Technology text.
For each chapter of the textbook, the manual includes:
Audio CD Set
Dr. Gollnick's series of 8 audio CDs performs three functions. They provide: 3) A summary of highlights from the corresponding chapter in the text
Reference Package
The reference package contains an assortment of supplementary charts, books, and reference materials as well as a scientific calculator. The contents may vary from time to time, subject to availability and updating, so the items shipped may differ a bit from what is illustrated. Other pertinent documents may also be substituted. Exam/Certificate Package
The last Course component containes the final examination. After completing the exam, it is submitted to Pacific Radiation Corporation for grading. If you pass, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion. The package also contains a course evaluation, so that we can continue to make improvements in our study materials.
